JACKPOCKET
SCALING THE SMART WAY
How we increased growth by 9x in a fragmented market, leading to a $750M sale
The ChallengE
How do you grow nationally with state-by-state rules?
Jackpocket operates in 18 states. Most media markets don’t care. TV buys spilled into banned states. CAC was ballooning. Jackpot-driven demand spikes weren’t being captured. Every rule seemed to work against scale.
THE INSIGHT
Eden Collective built a real-time media strategy system, unlike anything in the lottery space.
Audited every DMA for media spillover
Switched to zip-code-level streaming inventory
Activated buys only where Jackpocket could legally operate
Layered in dynamic budget pacing based on jackpot size and predictive demand curves
THE BREAKTHROUGH
To unlock sustainable scale in a highly regulated category, Eden Collective rebuilt Jackpocket’s media strategy from the ground up.
Our goal was to eliminate waste, increase precision and capture peak demand. We moved beyond DMA-level targeting to activate campaigns at the zip-code level, ensuring every dollar reached a compliant, convertible audience.
Streaming platforms became the most efficient path to high-LTV customers, outperforming traditional channels across all core metrics.
And by dynamically indexing media spend to jackpot spikes for when consumer intent surged, we turned short-lived windows of attention into outsized acquisition moments. Performance didn’t just improve, it accelerated, with every lever optimized for precision and market opportunity.
THE SHIFT
Jackpocket’s growth strategy shifted from generic reach to precision at scale.
Static media schedules gave way to a dynamic investment model indexed to jackpot demand—allowing us to concentrate spend when intent was highest and pull back when it wasn’t. This intelligence-driven approach unlocked 9x subscriber growth, record-setting return on ad spend, and a scalable performance framework resilient to regulatory complexity. What began as a fragmented, high-risk media environment was transformed into a disciplined, predictive engine—culminating in Jackpocket’s $750 million acquisition by DraftKings.
